Joey’s Home Movies For the Week of August 31st – The ‘Dirty Harry’ Collection is Here to Dispense Justice on Blu-ray

Welcome back to my Home Movies! Today, as August (and the summer, kind of) comes to an end, we don’t really have much to talk about, new release wise. The highlight of the slate? The Dirty Harry Collection coming to Blu-ray, along with the Blu-ray re-release of The Mauritanian, which I actually was quoted on the box art for, plus 28 Days Later on 4K. What else is hitting shelves this week? Read on to find out, but fair warning, it’s slim pickings aside from what’s already mentioned above. Still, we press on, regardless…

Joey’s Top Pick

The Dirty Harry Collection (Blu-ray)

I’ve actually recently seen all of the Dirty Harry sequels during weekly movie nights with friends, so this Clint Eastwood led franchise is fairly fresh in my mind. The first one, Dirty Harry, is more of an actual film, but the sequels, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact, and The Dead Pool are all quite ridiculous. There’s a lot of fun to be had with these flicks, especially as the tropes get locked in and Eastwood crafts the Harry Callahan persona. Available together now on Blu-ray, it’s an easy pick that also makes for a really fun movie marathon.
