‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer Premieres at CinemaCon: Here is Everything Seen in the Trailer

Marvel Studios brought one of the most electric moments of CinemaCon with the debut of the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, a massive crossover event that signals a bold new chapter for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The footage was introduced in person by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, the Russo Brothers, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who took the stage to thunderous applause before unveiling the trailer not once, but twice, in response to the overwhelmingly enthusiastic reaction from the crowd.

The footage immediately established the scale of the film, opening on the New Avengers Tower that hints at a rebuilt and redefined team. From there, the trailer wastes no time diving into its multiversal scope, with the Fantastic Four coming face-to-face with Bucky Barnes and Captain America, signaling unexpected alliances and tensions between different corners of the Marvel universe.

The action escalates rapidly, showcasing a series of high-stakes matchups that drew audible reactions from the CinemaCon audience. Shang-Chi is seen going head-to-head with Gambit in a kinetic fight sequence that blends martial arts precision with mutant flair, while Yelena Belova takes on Mystique in a tense, shape-shifting confrontation. The return of Namor adds another powerful force into the mix, further expanding the already crowded battlefield.

At the center of it all is the looming threat of Doctor Doom, who is positioned as a formidable antagonist capable of standing toe-to-toe with Marvel’s mightiest heroes. One of the trailer’s standout moments features Thor launching an attack with Stormbreaker, only for Doom to block it with ease, underscoring the villain’s immense power and setting the tone for the conflict ahead.

Perhaps the most crowd-pleasing moment comes with the return of Steve Rogers, who is seen delivering a simple but loaded “Hey, pal” to Thor before holding out his hand and summoning Mjolnir once again. The moment landed as a major emotional beat, drawing cheers from the audience and reinforcing the film’s emphasis on legacy characters returning in meaningful ways.

The trailer’s blend of new faces, returning heroes, and long-awaited character crossovers positions Avengers: Doomsday as one of Marvel’s most ambitious projects to date. With its December 18, 2026 release date confirmed, the film is clearly aiming to deliver a large-scale event that rivals the studio’s biggest past successes.

If the reaction inside the room was any indication, Marvel may have another cultural phenomenon on its hands, with the CinemaCon crowd responding to the footage with sustained enthusiasm that ultimately led to the rare encore screening, cementing the trailer drop as one of the defining moments of the convention.
