WB Moves ‘Mickey 17’ to April of 2025

Folks have been pretty annoyed that Warner Bros. was planning to release Bong Joon Ho‘s Mickey 17 in January. Pushing to 2025 was bad enough for fans of Bong, but for it to be a purported dumping ground as well? That’s been a bridge too far. Well, it seems like WB is doing something small to amend that, though not for the reason you’d hope for.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mickey 17 is going from a January 31st release date to April 18th. The reason? IMAX screens. When Antoine Fuqua‘s Michael Jackson biopic Michael moved from the 18th to October 3rd, those large screens became available, so WB is putting Mickey 17 there now. Could this end up leading to some kind of festival bow? Stay tuned to find out.
