Well, that was short lived. Merely a week ago, it was reported that Ryan Gosling would be starring in the as of now untitled event film from The Daniels. Coming right as Project Hail Mary was becoming a huge hit, it seemed like a real match made in cinematic heaven. Well, it now appears that it wasn’t meant to be. More below.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gosling and The Daniels couldn’t make it work for their next film. It sounds like there was an attempt to move the scheduled start date to accommodate Gosling, but that wasn’t ultimately a possibility. So, that’s a shame, considering the high he’s on now, as well as the excitement for the filmmaking duo’s next movie, but another A-lister should be on board in short order.
