The third season of Tell Me Lies does not disappoint, wrapping up the majority of our main storylines while still leaving viewers with a complete mess in the form of Stephen (Jackson White) abandoning Lucy (Grace Van Patten) at a gas station after she makes the mistake of leaving with him.

In our 2015 timeline, Pippa and Diana, brought to life by Sonia Mena and Alicia Crowder, are the only couple who get a real happy ending. However, in the college timeline, we do not conclude with them in a good place.
“I love that we ended there because I was so happy to have a sweet relationship, but I also felt like, if this is all good — every relationship has problems, and I felt like that was such an interesting way to leave us, to be totally devastated,” Mena expressed. “You know they’re gonna get back together, but like, we have no idea.”
Crowder continued to explain, “Those two things go together really well, because I think that if Diana hadn’t ended up at Yale, they never would have been able to come back together, because she would have been halfway across the country. So you know that she’s still in the area, and it’s like star-crossed lovers. It’s one of those inevitable things, is that like, even no matter how far they get pushed apart, they always slowly drift back together. So that’s kind of what I imagine happening.”

Meanwhile, Bree (Cat Missal) and Evan’s wedding becomes a disaster when Stephen exposes the bride’s secret relationship with Wrigley, which originally started back in college and was revived during their engagement party. Naturally, this resulted in absolute chaos.
Branden Cook opened up to me about filming that scene and Evan’s reaction, later adding that he does not think it’s something that the two can recover from.
“We choreographed just the flow of it, and it took a while to shoot,” he commented. “I added a couple of things. I had one take where it got a little, I think, too dark, and so we had to cut that one. I’m gonna ask Meaghan [Oppenheimer] if she has that take ‘cause I do want to see it, because everybody after I said it was [shocked]. But I got to dive into a cake, do my first stunt ever. That was great, I couldn’t walk for about a month, but it was 100% worth it, and yeah, it’s honestly one of my favorite scenes I’ve shot for this show.”

And while the revelation that Wrigley was the one calling Bree on her wedding day was a big surprise to fans, Spencer House knew about the twist from the beginning.
“I knew at the start of the show,” he shared. “Meaghan let me know it. It was very fun, but you forget about it, and you just keep going because what are the odds that you make it that far in a show with all the times that a show gets canceled? It started season three, it was like, all right, here we go, this is a different storyline. You jump into it and it’s got more of a trajectory that’s more in a positive arc, more of a redemption story between the two and you have a character like Wrigley, who’s just realizing that he’s truthful with himself for the first time, kind of has to grow up after his brother’s death and once he knows himself, he sees what he wants and that’s Bree. I had so much fun playing it, it was great. I was lucky.”
