Rob Reiner was beloved, not just because he was a talented actor and filmmaker, but because he was a lovely person as well. I’ve said it many times before, but Reiner had a run as a director that rivals anyone else in Hollywood, without question. To honor the man after his tragic and untimely fashion, an Awards Radar Community Question is in order. Given how many great films he made, we’re focusing in on that. Simply put, what is your favorite Reiner movie?
I said the following about him here when I did a ranking of his movies earlier this year:
There are few more interesting directorial careers in my eyes than Rob Reiner‘s. For years, he was one of the best mainstream directors in Hollywood, churning out hit after hit. Then, his work really fell off a cliff. Some have mocked that he forgot how to direct, but that’s obviously not the case. Times change, the types of movies we watch change, and all of that factored against him, but his talent couldn’t have vanished. When you look at the upper echelon of his films, it can stand with anyone, so it’s utterly fascinating to me.
This is my updated ranking of his films, now completed, for reference:
22. North
21. The Magic of Belle Isle
20. And So It Goes
19. The Story of Us
18. Alex and Emma
17. Being Charlie
16. Shock and Awe
15. LBJ
14. Rumor Has It…
13. Spinal Tap II: The End Continues
12. The Bucket List
11. Flipped
10. Albert Brooks: Defending My Life
9. Stand By Me
8. Ghosts of Mississippi
7. Misery
6. The Princess Bride
5. This Is Spinal Tap
4. The Sure Thing
3. When Harry Met Sally
2. A Few Good Men
1. The American President
Now, we want to hear from you. Which of Rob Reiner’s movies are your favorite? Is there one that you’re watching to honor the man? Do you already have a comfort film of his? I know several of his flicks have that stature for me. Whatever the case is, be sure to chime in. He was a legend, to be sure, so he deserves nothing less…
What are your favorite Rob Reiner films? Let us know!

His films were so accessible to people. I think that was a key factor and he didn’t have a type he was curious about everything.
My favorite is Misery that also has one of my favorite best actress wins .
Definitely a factor.
