This morning, Focus Features has released the official trailer for Hamnet from Oscar winner Chloé Zhao. Starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, the movie debuted to a rapturous response at the Telluride Film Festival, before going on to win the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Our own editor Joey Magidson saw it at Telluride and found it quite powerful, as you can see here in his review, which particularly raved about Buckley’s performance. Zhao directs a screenplay she co-wrote with Maggie O’Farrell, while the supporting cast includes Joe Alwyn and Emily Watson. The film will open in select theaters on November 27th before going wide on December 12th.
