Interview: Kingsley Ben-Adir Returns to Discuss ‘Bob Marley: One Love’

Kingsley Ben-Adir has been steadily building his profile as an actor to pay close attention to. I previously spoke to him here about One Night in Miami…, which feels like a lifetime ago. Now, with the awards season upon us, Paramount Pictures is trying to keep Bob Marley: One Love in the conversation. To that end, they made Ben-Adir available for a conversation. A week or two ago, we sat down to talk. Today, I’m happy to share that discussion with you all.

In my review of the film (here), I had the following to say about Ben-Adir’s performance:

Kingsley Ben-Adir find a groove to his portrayal of Bob Marley, that much is undeniable. He captures internal turmoil very well, better than the screenplay he’s given, in fact. He also shines during the musical sequences, getting lost in the music.

Below, you can see my chat with Ben-Adir. It’s kind of a general check-in with the man, who has such talent and excellent taste in his projects. The degree of difficulty in this performance is incredibly high, so that he is still in the conversation so many months later speaks to just how strong of an actor he is.
