Interview: Jude Law and Alicia Vikander Discuss the Acting Appeal of ‘Firebrand’

Whenever you can watch a pair of talented actors go to town on each other with their craft, it’s an exciting proposition. Watching Firebrand (review to come this week after its Tribeca Festival bow), you can’t help but be struck by Jude Law and Alicia Vikander. Both of them are capable of captivating performances and are allowed to shine in the film. With it about to hit theaters this weekend, I hopped on Zoom earlier in the week with the two of them to talk about the movie (or in Vikander’s case, our second talk, as I spoke to her about Blue Bayou here about three years ago). Today, that discussion comes your way.

Below, you can hear my short chat with Law and Vikander. In our brief time, I wanted to talk about how the Firebrand co-stars have both been stars sought out for just about every A-list role, yet manage to still be picky. Here, they found roles they’ve never played before, with sparks flying. They were very keen on the line of questioning, so we more than made the most of our time together. If you’re a fan of one or both of them, you’ll be delighted by their big turns here. They’re going for it, in a way that showcases them quite enjoyably.
