Greater Western New York Film Critics Association’s 2023 Film Awards Nominees

Buffalo, NY (December 22, 2023) – The Greater Western New York Film Critics Association (GWNYFCA), a collective of WNY film critics from in and around the Buffalo and Rochester metropolitan areas, has just announced its sixth annual film awards nominees for 2023. Thirty-three (33) different titles are represented on the ballot.

Our members consist of critics in traditional print media (newspapers and magazines) and online media (websites and podcasts). In an era of aggregate sites, we aspire to give our region a voice within the ever-changing international cinematic landscape.

We will be announcing our winners in-person at Rochester’s Dryden Theatre on January 6th, 2024.

Classifying Dominic Sessa as playing a “supporting” role in The Holdovers is embarrassing, but it’s nice to see May December and Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. show up in more than one place.
