Christopher Nolan Denies Involvement With ‘James Bond’ Franchise

Christopher Nolan will not be directing a James Bond film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Multiple rumors had indicated that the Oppenheimer filmmaker could be involved with future installments of the franchise that follows one of the most famous spies of all time. But now, the director himself has denied the claims.

While it’s unknown what might be the next step for Nolan, he saw a lot of success with Oppenheimer earlier this year. The movie starred Cillian Murphy as the titular historical figure, as he struggled with the consequences of creating nuclear devices that could be used in times of war. Earning more than $800 million at the global box office, the film proved to be a major hit for universal.

Daniel Craig was the last actor who portrayed James Bond in a series of films that spanned more than a decade. Across five films, Craig proved to be an extremely efficient spy, facing off against a wide variety of villains who always took the character to his limits, even if he found a way to stop them most of the time.

There’s not a lot of information available regarding the next James Bond film, but since Craig retired from the role in No Time To Die, a new actor is expected to take on the role. The new version of the action hero is far away from the big screen, since neither a screenwriter or director has been hired for the next installment of the franchise.
