Ben Affleck To Return as Batman in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’

Ben Affleck will wear the cape and cowl once more. Jason Momoa announced the news on Instagram through a picture of himself and Affleck together in an office. According to Momoa’s description of the picture, apparently a group of fans spotted Affleck on set during a Warner Brothers Studio Lot Tour.

Back in 2019, Ben Affleck officially stated that he was retiring from playing Bruce Wayne. However, a couple of years later he was confirmed to appear during next summer’s The Flash. And now, thanks this Aquaman sequel directed by James Wan, he will return the role once again.

This would mark Affleck’s fifth appearance in the iconic role, after fellow DC films Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Justice League and the aforementioned Flash. This continuity is not connected to the one displayed in Matt ReevesThe Batman, which was released earlier this year.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to release in theaters on March 17th, 2023, with a cast that also includes Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The film will be produced by James Wan and Peter Safran.
