Alex Garland Unveils Trailer For New Horror Film ‘Men’

It’s been over four years since the release of Alex Garland‘s last film Annihilation, a science fiction psychological horror film that follows a group of explorers who enter “The Shimmer”, a mysterious quarantined zone of mutating plants and animals caused by an alien presence.

The film was met with overwhelming praise from critics while it proved to be polarizing for mainstream audiences. It seems as if his upcoming film Men is going to go down the same route if the new trailer is any indication.

In the aftermath of a personal tragedy, Harper (Jessie Buckley) retreats alone to the beautiful English countryside, hoping to have found a place to heal. But someone or something from the surrounding woods appears to be stalking her. What begins as simmering dread becomes a fully-formed nightmare, inhabited by her darkest memories and fears.

The cast of Men includes Jessie Buckley, Rory Kinnear, and Paapa Essiedu, and is written and directed by Garland.

Men is scheduled to be released in theatres by A24 on May 20, 2022.
