‘Another Round’ Remake in the Works, Potentially Starring Leonardo DiCaprio

Our editor Joey Magidson brought up the possibility when he spoke with Mads Mikkelsen recently (see that interview here). We mentioned it on our post-Oscars podcast (listen here). Clearly we were on the right path as the news is here officially: an English-language remake of Another Round is coming.

The day after Thomas Vinterberg’s Danish feature won the Oscar for Best International Film, it has been announced that Endeavor Content, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way, and Brad Weston’s Makeready have picked up the rights for an English-language remake that could potentially star DiCaprio in the leading role played by Mikkelsen.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Vinterberg is also set to produce the remake. No word yet on timeline for when we could see this moving into production, and with DiCaprio currently at work on Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon it would at least be a little while if he were indeed to star in the project. Still, Joey and Awards Radar on the whole called it: a remake of Another Round is on the way.
