‘I Play Rocky’ Has Been Submitted as a Comedy at the Golden Globes

In the aftermath of Friday’s submission deadline, more reports of category placement for the Golden Globes are coming in. The newest one concerns I Play Rocky, which blew the roof off of the Toronto International Film Festival. Looking to captivate voters in a similar manner, the movie is going to be hoping for comedic attention from Globe voters, as you’ll see below.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, I Play Rocky has opted to compete in the Musical / Comedy fields, as opposed to Drama, where it was initially expected to wind up. What that means remains to be seen, but it does appear that the crowd pleasing elements of the film are what Amazon MGM is hoping to capitalize on. Stay tuned to see how it goes.
