Box Office Report for the Week of November 1

It’s Halloween, and Americans decided to see the year’s most unsettling film...Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder‘s You Can See Everything. That’s right, three weeks after its buzzy opening, the film has gained incredible legs and has dethroned James Watkins‘ Clayface for the top spot, though it was a fairly close battle. You Can See Everything‘s global tally now stands at $63.8 million, and A24 is targeting a $90-100 million finish, which would be huge for a documentary.

The third feature film in the DC Universe is actually holding much stronger than anticipated, snagging $10.4 million this weekend, while You Can See Everything got $10.6 million domestically. The film’s global cume now surpasses Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance, the highest-grossing body horror film of all time before, and now sits at $83 million globally. A major win for DC, no matter what the internet wants you to believe.

The rest of the weekend saw many films released this past week perform much better, including Travis Knight’s Wildwood, which has gained further momentum after an overwhelmingly positive reception from both critics and audiences, dropping only 39% to $7.4 million. Wicker also had a similar fate, holding strong with a 28% drop and a $4.1 million domestic tally.

Some September films also made a comeback in the top ten, including Zach Cregger‘s Resident Evil, with a $2.5 million tally, and David Ayer’s Heart of the Beast, one of Paramount’s most commercially successful films, moving from twelfth to tenth at $1.6 million this weekend. It’s a sign of a truly healthy moviegoing environment, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy on the big screen as the last few months of the year begin!
