Awards Radar Community: What Was Your Favorite Announcement at CinemaCon 2026?

This week was CinemaCon 2026. The annual event has felt bigger and bigger in recent years, with this year almost having the feel of a San Diego Comic Con, back in the day. We had a writer on hand at CinemaCon covering the biggest news, so hopefully you’ve been following along. To that end, this week’s Awards Radar Community Question is about all of what went down over the past handful of days in Las Vegas. Of everything announced at CinemaCon 2026, what got you the most excited?

If it was an announcement, what was it? Perhaps you were delighted to hear that Top Gun 3 is now in even more active development. That would be a fun pick, for sure. Another option would be Spaceballs 2 now getting the title of Spaceballs: The New One. There’s also a new Longlegs project for Nicolas Cage and Osgood Perkins, as well as Sean Baker‘s Anora follow-up being called Ti Amo!. These are just some of the announcement highlights, too.

Maybe it was hearing about, or even seeing, a trailer? Avengers: Doomsday was the big one described by those in the room, followed by Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu‘s opening seventeen minutes, as well as clips/scenes from Disclosure Day and The Odyssey. There was also bits shown from Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Meanwhile, The Dog Stars was the rare one actually released online.
