Even More Commercials Are Coming to Movie Theaters

Unless you’re one of privileged few who are able to see films at press screenings, one of the elements of going to the movies these days is dealing with ads and commercials before the feature begins. Whether you sit through them, ignore them, or adjust when you show up, they’re a fact of life for almost all cinema goers. Well, it sounds like AMC Theaters is going the fray with even more commercials next month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, come July 1st, AMC (which had resisted doing so for some time) is adding regular ads to lineup prior to the movie beginning. It’s all a part of theaters, as well as the film industry on the whole, looking to increase revenue and continue to keep their heads above water. Time will tell how audiences react to this change, if at all, but it’s clearly not going to be an isolate switch. Stay tuned for more.
