Palme d’Or Given to ‘It Was Just an Accident’ to Cap Off the 78th Cannes Film Festival

The 78th Cannes Film Festival is coming to a close with the announcement of its awards. The competition jury, headed by Juliette Binoche, has opted to give the coveted Palme d’Or to Jafar Panahi for It Was Just an Accident (my alternate pick, so close but no cigar for yours truly). Unsurprisingly, NEON has continued its winning streak. Wagner Moura took Best Actor for The Secret Agent (the only prediction I got spot on), while Nadia Melliti won Best Actress for The Little Sister. Runner-up for the Palme, the Grand Prix, went to my prediction for the Palme in Joaquin Trier and Sentimental Value. The rest of the prizes can be seen below.
