The first trailer for East of Eden has been released online. Created by Zoe Kazan, the upcoming Netflix TV series readapts John Steinbeck‘s 1952 novel of the same name for the screen, following a 1955 feature film adaptation directed by Zoe’s grandfather, Elia Kazan.
The seven-episode television series is directed by Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, and stars Florence Pugh, Joseph Zada, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Joe Anders, Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, and Ciarán Hinds.
Here is the plot synopsis:
“In the early 1900s, a fiercely independent woman drives a rift between two brothers, igniting a saga that unfolds across two generations.”
