Whether you want it or not, Universal absolutely wants its new Jurassic World installment to get the camera rolling as soon as possible. A few weeks ago, it was announced that David Koepp would pen the screenplay for the latest chapter of the Jurassic World franchise after Dominion was seemingly “the final chapter.”
Now, it seems that David Leitch will be boarding the cart to the director’s chair, with the film now set to release on July 2, 2025. The good news is that Leitch is a seasoned blockbuster filmmaker and that Koepp wrote the original 1993 film with Michael Crichton alongside its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
Both of these films were directed by Steven Spielberg, who will executive produce the latest installment alongside Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley, and Kelly McCormick.
The film is set to launch a “new Jurassic era,” and while some may not want this sequel to happen, it was inevitable once its previous installment grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Here’s hoping no locusts will be found this time around.
