If you happen to check the home page of Awards Radar, earlier in the week I updated the poll we feature on the right side. It hadn’t been updated since Oscar nominations, since it was a fairly evergreen poll. Now, however, it’s been replaced with a brand new one. It’s Academy Award related, of course, and it even led us to an Awards Radar Community Question. Just like the poll asks: which Oscar nominated film that went home empty-handed after the ceremony do you like best?
The options listed in the poll are as follows: Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, The Batman, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Living, Tár, and Triangle of Sadness. Of course, if you want to cite something else, like Aftersun, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, or Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, that’s perfectly cool as well. After all, it just comes down to your personal taste…
The choice is yours, ladies and gentlemen. Of all the films sent home without an Oscar, which one are you most partial to? For me, it was The Fabelmans. For you, it could be something else. All eligible movies are on the table. So, chime in now!
Which Oscar nominated film that went home empty-handed is your favorite? Let us know!
The Fabelmans, followed closely by Turning Red.
Strong picks!
Well ironically my top five films of last year are The Batman followed by The Fabelmans, The Banshees of Inisherin, Tar and Babylon… So all five went home empty handed.
Go figure!
I could see TÁR as a go-to example I readily bring up of a “movie for grownups” in future conversations about my anxiety over how few of them seem to be produced and pitched to an even semi-wide audience these days.
That’s very fair.
It’s extremely close between Tar, Banshees and the Fabelmans. The Batman and Glass Onion would be on the tear below for movies I loved that went home empty. The Batman I would have found an award for, not sure I would take Women Talking’s away for Glass Onion to get one. Tar, Banshees and the Fabelmans going home empty hurt. I loved EEAO as well but they could have easily found deserving wins for those three…and you wouldn’t even have to take away Yeoh’s or picture . Would have been even easier if Williams went to supporting to get one for the Fabelmans.
All strong picks…
