Interview: Talking to Artist Eric Goldberg, the Man behind The Genie in ‘Aladdin’

If you ask me, Disney+ is the greatest thing to happen to my world. Why? Because of series like Sketchbook. This series literally takes us on a ride with the artists behind some of the most iconic animated characters in the history of cinema. Today, we’d like to introduce you to one. Meet Eric Goldberg.

Goldberg is the genius behind so many characters, such as “Phil” in Hercules, “Maui’s Tattoo” in Moana, and of course, “The Genie” in Aladdin. Oh, he also co-directed Pocahontas, and directed the segment “The Carnival of Animals” in Fantasia 2000, among with MANY other credits, but this interview, is all about “The Genie”.

I hope you enjoy our interview with the living legend, artist Eric Goldberg. Take a look:

Sketchbook is available to watch on Disney+ now!
