Cosmic Antics Ensue in a New ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Trailer

During the halftime of Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, Marvel Studios premiered the official trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder. Taika Waititi’s directorial return to the MCU is scheduled to hit theaters exclusively on July 8.

The story follows a post-Avengers: Endgame Thor as he teams up with his friends–Korg, Valkyrie, the Guardians of the Galaxy–and even his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who now possesses powers of her own, to defeat Gorr the God Butcher, who intends to cause the extinction of gods.

The film sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, as well as the return of Natalie Portman, Taika Waititi, Tessa Thomspon, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and more. Joining the Marvel ensemble is Russell Crowe as Zeus and Christian Bale as the big, bad antagonist, Gorr.

The new trailer gives fans a deeper insight into the story of the film. It also gives audiences a taste of the Waititi brand of humor as well as the cosmic action, insane set designs and cinematography, and the iconic guitar riff of Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”
