Fresh off the announcement that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be joining Harrison Ford for Indiana Jones 5, the massive franchise sequel has added another name… and it’s a big one.
Deadline is reporting that Mads Mikkelsen is set to join the duo for the new film from director James Mangold, in a currently undisclosed role.
Will Mikkelsen be playing another one of his many villains, as we’ve seen him do for James Bond, Marvel, and soon the Harry Potter franchises? Or will this be another Rogue Onesituation, where the actor is on the side of the good guys? Time will tell, but everyone knows that any movie is better with Mikkelsen in it.
Production for the new Indiana Jones adventure is set to begin this summer, with the aim to meet its currently scheduled July 29, 2022 release date.
Mikkelsen will soon be seen in Riders of Justice, his new film with frequent collaborator Anders Thomas Jensen.
Another of his recurring Danish collaborators is Thomas Vinterberg, the newly minted Oscar nominee for Best Director. Be sure to check out our conversation with Mikkelsen for their film Another Round, which is currently the frontrunner for this year’s Best International Feature Oscar.
