COVID may have caused a delay in the initial release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s forays into the Disney+ landscape, but once they hit the ground they really hit it running.
WandaVision started 2021 off with a bang, dominating social media for the first several months of the year. Now, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has everyone talking about the New Cap, and where the adventures of Sam and Bucky are going to go next.
Once that series wraps up its six-episode run you won’t have to wait long for your next taste of the MCU on the small screen, as Loki begins its own six-episode season on June 11th.
To give audiences a taste of what they can expect, Disney has dropped a new trailer for the series which will see Tom Hiddleston reprising his fan favorite role as the God of Mischief.
When we last saw Loki he was being resurrected from the dead, in a way. After perishing at the hands of Thanos in the opening of 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, the character saw new life as 2019’s time-hopping extravaganza Avengers: Endgame afforded a former version of the character (the one from 2012’s The Avengers) the chance to escape his morbid fate.
Loki the series picks up where that thread left off, with the character jumping across time and perhaps an assortment of universes, running afoul of an organization known as the Time Variance Authority.
Co-starring in the series wit Hiddleston are Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Richard E. Grant, Sophia Di Martino, Sasha Lane, and Wunmi Mosaku.
Check out the trailer for Loki below, and get ready for the series’ debut on Disney+ on June 11th:
