2021 Emmys Predictions
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR, COMEDY
Updated September 16, 2021
He’s here, he’s there, he’s every (expletive) where. And, right now he’s at the top of our predictions for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy. Brett Goldstein plays Roy Kent with the perfect amount of gruff and heart – the unlikely lovable ‘Ted Lasso’ character that stole a lot of scenes. He faces stiff competition from the SNL’s breakout performer, Bowen Yang, whose Titanic iceberg skits had us in tears. And people love Kenan. Which is why we keep flip-flopping on who holds that second spot.
Also in the running are three (yes, THREE) other ‘Ted Lasso’ co-stars which may pull some votes from Goldstein to open the door for standalone nominees Carl Clemons-Hopkins or even Paul Reiser. But, for now, we are sticking with Goldstein because we worry what Roy Kent would do to us if we didn’t.
