2021 Emmys Predictions

Updated September 17, 2021

Anya Taylor-Joy "The Queen's Gambit"

Four actresses delivered lead performances that propelled each of their respective limited series to Emmy nominations. So, of course those four actresses are all present here in the Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category.

Four very different yet all outstanding performances that made us laugh, cry, smile, and holding our breath – and that’s just one of them. As of right now we have Kate Winslet sitting above the rest, but that may not remain the case. Anya Taylor-Joy’s work on ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ is tour de force. He biggest hurdle, time. Did the show premiere too long ago to lose a few of those crucial votes?

Michaela Coel’s nuanced work in “I May Destroy You” and Elizabeth Olsen’s faceted performance in “WandaVision” are certainly going to make this a tough call for voters. We may just have to flip a coin in the end. Today it’s Kate, tomorrow Michaela, the next??? This is a nail-biter.

And after weeks of back and forth we feel Anya has the right moves. The nine Creative Arts Emmys it walked away with proves that even after being released nearly a year ago, the love is still there for the “Queen.”

1. Anya Taylor-Joy "The Queen's Gambit"

2. Kate Winslet "Mare of Easttown"

3. Michaela Coel "I May Destroy You"

4. Elizabeth Olsen "WandaVision"

5. Cynthia Erivo "Genius: Aretha"
