Main Trailer Released for ‘La bola Negra’ By Netflix

This morning, Netflix released their main trailer for La bola negra, which is shaping up to be a major Oscar player. Directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi (known as “Los Javis”), the film has been racking up tons of adoring fans ever since its debut at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie stars Guitarricadelafuente, Miguel Bernardeau, Carlos González, Milo Quifes, Lola Dueñas, Julio Torres, Penélope Cruz, Glenn Close, and more. Back at the Telluride Film Festival, our editor Joey Magidson reviewed La bola negra rather positively right here. Netflix will be releasing this one in theaters on October 16th before a later streaming date.

The synopsis from Netflix is as follows:

From Cannes-winning directors Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi — popularly known as Los Javis — La Bola Negra follows three generations of men across pivotal moments in Spanish history, bound by pain, desire, and love. Carlos (Milo Quifes) longs to belong in a fractured Spain. Sebastián (Guitarricadelafuente) finds connection across enemy lines. And Alberto (Carlos González) uncovers a long-buried family secret — one that finally gives voice to truths the past tried to erase. The film also stars Miguel Bernardeau (Rafael), Goya winner Lola Dueñas (Teresa), Academy Award winner Penélope Cruz (Nené), Golden Globe winner Glenn Close (Isabelle), and Emmy-nominated Julio Torres (Juan Pablo).
