Jim Carrey and Ron Howard Are Working on a Sequel to ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’

Despite being a massive box office success and having a really committed Jim Carrey performance, it has always seemed like Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a bit of a mixed bag. Well, at the very least, Carrey and Howard look back fondly on that project. Why? They’re pursuing a sequel to that holiday film. More below.

According to Variety, Carrey and Howard are working on a Grinch sequel. Assuming the project doesn’t fall apart at this point, Brian Grazer would produce again, while the screenplay would come from Alec Berg, David Mandel, and Jeff Schaffer. The three have worked on Curb Your Enthusiasm, while also did a previous Seuss adaptation in The Cat in the Hat. If this comes together, hopefully this would be a more successful work than that latter project. Stay tuned.
