A little over a year ago, The Life of Chuck took the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. After that success at TIFF, it wasn’t until this year that it opened in theaters, where audiences were able to fall for the movie. Among its biggest fans is our own editor Joey Magidson, who called Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of the Stephen King short story a masterpiece. His rave is here, but if you missed it, NEON is putting the film back in theaters for one night only. As a bonus, there’s an exclusive conversation between Flanagan and Mark Hamill attached. You can see it on October 1st. More below.
Here is the press release:
Following its award-winning debut at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and a celebrated nationwide theatrical run, Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck returns to theaters for a one-night only special engagement on October 1st.
This unique event will feature an exclusive conversation with director Mike Flanagan and legendary actor Mark Hamill, offering audiences rare insight into the making of the film, its emotional resonance, and the enduring legacy of Stephen King’s original short story.
Tickets are available beginning today, September 24th at participating theaters and major ticketing platforms. At AMC Theaters the film will be screened in Dolby and at Regal in RPX screens.
From acclaimed filmmaker Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House) and based on the short story by Stephen King, The Life of Chuck is a genre-defying, emotionally rich journey through the life of Charles “Chuck” Krantz — a man whose story unfolds revealing the wonder of love, the weight of loss, and the hidden beauty in every moment.
The film features an all-star ensemble cast led by Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Benjamin Pajak, Jacob Tremblay, and Mark Hamill, and has been praised as “one of the most profoundly beautiful films ever.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to revisit The Life of Chuck on the big screen.
