Awards Radar Community: Are You More Intrigued by the ‘Marty Supreme’ or ‘The Smashing Machine’ Trailers?

Yesterday, a teaser trailer dropped online for Marty Supreme from Josh Safdie. Back in April, we got the first trailer for The Smashing Machine from Benny Safdie. With A24 putting out both and it representing the first solo films from the Safdie Brothers, they’re naturally going to be compared and contrasted with each other. So, I figured we could do it with the trailers. For this week’s Awards Radar Community question, we’re asking which one you’re partial to, if any? Are you on Team Marty Supreme or Team The Smashing Machine?

A24

If you’re partial to one of them, let us know. Maybe you’re into the trailer for Marty Supreme because you’re a fan of Timothée Chalamet? Or, maybe it’s The Smashing Machine for you, due to the real life story or the presence of Dwayne Johnson? Either one is totally valid to prefer. Perhaps you like both trailers? Or, maybe you dislike both? If so, that’s totally fine, but you have to let us know. The devil is in the details, after all.

Now, the choice is yours. Are you more interested (going by the trailers) in Marty Supreme or The Smashing Machine? Are you down for both of them? Whatever the case may be, just chime in and tell us where you stand. We’re all ears…

I’m more interested in The Smashing Machine, and it’s not even really all that close in my mind. Marty Reisman‘s personal story just isn’t as interesting or ripe for drama as Mark Kerr‘s, and it doesn’t help that an FTX shill with a persistent habit of making excuses for financial crimes is playing a key supporting role in Marty Supreme.
