Influencers to A-Listers: How Online Creators Are Crossing Over Into Hollywood

If someone had told me back in 2020 that creating TikToks videos would create a thrilling opportunity for making a place in Hollywood, I would have laughed in their face. Now, I see many influencers and creators achieving life-changing breakthroughs simply because their talents have been recognized by casting directors or production houses.

This is mainly because the hunt for talent is not limited to the traditional approach. Even the major studios are acknowledging the fact that social media creators are capable of bringing different things to the table, whether it’s excellent acting skills or a loyal fan base.

Now, before you start daydreaming about creating videos and landing a high-budget movie, let me tell you that all this may sound simple, but trust me, it’s not as easy as walking on butter. Today, we’re going to delve deeper into the world where TikTok stars make their way to Hollywood and explore the aftermath of being an influencer.

The Rising Stars Of Social Media (TikTok)

TikTok was a platform where people showcased their skills, such as acting, dancing, singing, and more. However, the rise of the digital era has made it possible for small influencers to pave their path, leading to the world of magic – Hollywood.

Without facing the struggles or getting stuck in the labyrinth of auditions, talents are getting the proper recognition in Hollywood. What started as a simple video to entertain people is now becoming more like a stepping stone to stardom. Many creators who were creating simple videos are signing roles in movies, walking on red carpets, and getting brand deals.

For instance, Charli D’Amelio made an appearance on Dancing With The Stars as her dance videos got more than 100 million views. There’s also Addison Rae, who made her debut with her feature film He’s All That.

Another TikTok star, Noah Beck, has got a chance to make an appearance in the AwesomenessTV series Noah Beck Tries Things. Moreover, he has also done campaigns for major brands like Balmain and Prada.

Liza Koshy, David Dobrik, Bella Poarch, Dixie D’Amelio, and Avani Gregg are some of the names that have made their places in Hollywood by just creating videos from their bedrooms.

It won’t be wrong to say that platforms like TikTok are not only limited to making lip-sync videos or short skits. Such platforms have become a launching pad for careers in Hollywood.

Do Influencers And Creators Offer More Than Traditional Actors?

To be honest, yes, influencers and creators offer more than what traditional actors actually do. After all, it’s not only a great set of acting skills or enhanced performance required. These influencers have a better understanding of storytelling and really know how to keep the audience engaged.

They not only do what they are asked to but also give something extra. For instance, they often promote the projects and work as part-time marketers because they have been doing this for themselves for months and years.

Moreover, these influencers come with a ready-made audience. So, it becomes easier for the production houses to launch someone who has already made an impact on people.

How Is Hollywood Seeing The Creators And TikTokers?

Surprisingly, Hollywood has opened its arms to the creators and TikTokers. Casting directors are now scrolling through TikTok and Instagram to search for the perfect talent who would meet the requirements of the character.

Moreover, the fact that these influencers also bring a set of new audiences to the table as they have got massive followers. So, it’s not only about featuring new and young faces but also about making sure that people get variety.

Having said that, Hollywood has also started recognizing talent by curating a special category in Award Shows. To name one, the aforementioned TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, who has been nominated for various awards. She also won Favorite Female Creator at The Blimp Award in 2023 and was nominated for Breakthrough Social Star at the MTV Movie + TV Awards.

Moreover, the fact that production companies are collaborating with influencers to promote Hollywood projects is again blurring the lines between web content and traditional media.

What Else Is There For A Digital Creator Other Than Hollywood?

If you think that making a place in Hollywood is everything that an influencer could ask for, then you are wrong. Trust me, Hollywood is not the final destination. Maybe it’s a new start that can skyrocket the careers of all the creators and TikTokers.

Many influencers are tapping into the business world. Now, we all know Mr. Beast, who is also the owner of a snack brand (Feastables). Another name that has tapped into new streams of income is the previously mentioned Addison Rae, who has launched her own beauty line, Item Beauty.

That is not all; through live streams and interactive content, influencers are ensuring that every impression converts into revenue. For this, influencers and creators are using third-party platforms like Eldorado.gg’s TikTok Coins Shop to support and monetize their livestreams and boost their careers rapidly.

Conclusion

Now, after reading all this, if you think that you have something to offer, then this is your sign. I mean, it’s never too late to become a star.

Don’t worry if you don’t get a call from Hollywood on your first viral TikTok or reel because you can tap into different income streams and actually make a living out of social media.

I won’t lie that it would be easy, but for sure, it’s going to be thrilling. And you never know that your one video can attract the right person who has your ticket to Hollywood. So, keep creating.
