Christopher Nolan is out promoting The Odyssey, which finally hits theaters next week. Look for our own Joey Magidson’s review in just a few days, but as Nolan is making the rounds, some of the films he’s responded to this year have come up. Plus, he has some strong words about AI slop, which will only endear him more to cinephiles. Read on for more.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan is a fan of both Backrooms and Obsession, pointing to how young audiences are supporting original ideas, all while rejecting AI slop. Pointing to his children as examples, it’s part of what gives him hope, as well as what fueled him to believe that audiences would be able to handle a three hour movie about Greek mythology from him. The final product is unveiling itself shortly, but Nolan has the correct opinion here, at least according to a lot of folks.
