Last year, Glen Powell charmed audiences both in front of the camera and with his pen (figuratively), starring in and co-writing Hit Man. There, he wrote the screenplay with Richard Linklater. Joey loved that film, as he raved about here. Well, it looks like Powell is going to be co-writing another comedy script to star in, this time with another A-list filmmaker.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Powell is co-writing an original comedy about a country music singer with none other than Judd Apatow. Powell will star a country western star in a free fall, while Apatow will direct. Universal has this one on the fast track, so it’s possible we see the movie as soon as next year. Stay tuned.
