First Look at Matt Damon in ‘The Odyssey’ Shared as Production Begins

Production has begun on Christopher Nolan’s latest movie, The Odyssey, which will adapt Homer‘s ancient Greek poem to the screen. Written by Nolan, the film will star Matt Damon as Odysseus, on his journey to return home following the Trojan War.

Like any Nolan production, The Odyssey boasts an all-star cast comprised of Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, and Corey Hawkins.

The movie will be released exclusively in theatres and IMAX on July 17, 2026. As cameras began to roll, Universal shared a first look at Damon’s Odysseus, which you can look at below:
