First Trailer for ‘The Apprentice’ Drops on Day of Harris-Trump Debate

Tonight, the candidates for President of the United States will face off in a debate, with sitting Vice President Kamala Harris going up against former President Donald Trump. This morning, the first trailer for the movie about Trump’s early days dropped. Yes, those outside of the film festival bubble can now get their first real look at The Apprentice.

The plot synopsis is: “The story of how a young Donald Trump started his real estate business in 1970s and 80s New York with the helping hand of infamous lawyer Roy Cohn.”

The film stars Sebastian Stan as Trump, Jeremy Strong as Cohn, and Maria Bakalova as Ivana Trump. Ali Abbasi directs a screenplay by Gabriel Sherman. Back at the Telluride Film Festival, our editor Joey Magidson saw the movie and was mixed overall, but praised Stan and Strong, as you can see here. The Apprentice hits theaters on October 11th.
