Destin Daniel Cretton to Direct ‘Spider-Man 4’ for Sony and Marvel Studios

After stepping away from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which eventually became Avengers: Doomsday, Destin Daniel Cretton is now setting Spider-Man 4 as his next MCU project. It will be another joint collaboration between Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, though no details on the nature of the story have been revealed.

Tom Holland is set to return as the friendly neighborhood web-slinger, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers also writing the screenplay. The duo also worked on the Jon Watts-directed Spider-Man trilogy, which comprised Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The movie is set to gear up ready to shoot early next year. Cretton also directed several episodes of Wonder Man for Disney+, and is still attached to helm a live-action adaptation of Naruto and a sequel to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. With Spider-Man 4 now his priority, one will see which Marvel characters will be integrated into the mix this time around, after Iron Man, Nick Fury, and Doctor Strange had prominent roles in each of Tom Holland’s movies.
