‘Memory’ Acquired by Ketchup Entertainment, Poised to Release in 2023 to Campaign Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard

While it appeared like the 2023 Oscar season was more or less set, contender wise, we have a new player hoping to crash the party. After a strong film festival run, Memory from Michel Franco has acquired distribution, with plans to come out before the end of the year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ketchup Entertainment has picked up the movie, hoping to campaign Jessica Chastain in Best Actress, as well as Peter Sarsgaard in Best Supporting Actor. With an Interim Agreement in hand, they can also put someone like Sarsgaard out in the world to do press, so this is a development worth keeping an eye on. Will the film score any Academy Award love? That remains to be seen, but Memory is in the race, at least.

Peter Sarsgaard has held an Oscar I.O.U. for twenty years, now. So yeah, here’s hoping this campaign for him is successful.
