Are the Coen Brothers Reuniting?

Film fans worship few brother directors more than Joel Coen and Ethan Coen. The Coen Brothers, as they’re known, are Oscar winners, but also just iconic filmmakers. So, when they went their separate ways a few years ago, many felt it was a loss for the industry. Joel made The Tragedy of Macbeth, which got some Academy Award nominations, while Ethan has Drive Away Dolls coming out later on this year. Now, up next for both men? Well, it seems like they could be getting back together.

According to /Film, Joel and Ethan have a new project in the works. In fact, Ethan has confirmed that he’s working on something new with his brother. There are no details yet, but the mere fact is pretty exciting for movie lovers. Stay tuned for more, since it seems like the Coen Brothers are back.

Wait, they took a break from each other to do one solo project before reuniting? That’s it?

I would love to have been a fly on the wall during their presumable argument over Joel’s desire to direct a gloomy black-and-white Shakespeare adaptation and Ethan doing a lesbian road trip comedy caper, not coming to a consensus, and just agreeing to split up for literally just those two projects before collaborating again.
