This weekend, we have a new Jennifer Lawrence vehicle in theaters. It’s No Hard Feelings, the rare R-rated comedy actually hitting screens and not VOD. My review is here, but Lawrence is excellent in it. That’s not shocking, considering how she’s one of the best actresses in the industry. An Academy Award on her mantle does kind of suggest that. With the new film in theaters, it seemed like a good time to do an Awards Radar Community Question on her. So, the question is this…what is your favorite Jennifer Lawrence performance? Of course, it’s not just Oscar fare that Lawrence gravitates towards. She’s got her new comedy, as well as franchises like The Hunger Games and X-Men. There’s a nice amount of variety on display, which is always nice to see. Whenever she signs on to something it’s notable, so a large amount of these projects are in fact baity. So, while your mileage may vary, there’s no shortage of options to choose from…

Personally I like some of her more underrated performances like Don’t Look Up ,Joy and The Hunger Games .The Hunger Games despite the type of movies they made a lot on demands on her both for the physical demands and emotional range .She also had to be a quick thinker.
In Joy when she takes apart that mop and knows what happened and knowing who she can and can’t trust I thought that’s a mental performance . Her mind is always working .I need to revist that one.
Don’t Look Up she was the one I related to the most .I love DiCaprio,Streep and Blanchett too.Blanchett should do more comedy.

She has been someone I’ve been excited about since Winter’s Bone. I’m always interested in what she’s doing next and I think she is a great actress. My list is:
I’d have given her nominations for Silver Linings, American Hustle and Winters Bone. And I think she deserves her win for Silver Linings. I wouldn’t have been mad if she got nominated for Causeway or Mother but I don’t think she was one of the best 5 in those years. I don’t think she deserved her Joy nomination…too many more deserving performances that year so that was upsetting. It was a very good performance in a so so movie (but she’s had quite a few of those actually now that I look at her filmography).

Yes I don’t have a problem with how the Oscar going to Brie Larson she and Blanchett were better than year. Joy was good and I liked Jennifer in it but not better than Brie or Cate or the others.
