Well, we’ve come to the end of 2022. Tomorrow brings 2023, somehow. Hopefully you have something safe yet fun planned for New Year’s Eve tonight. Either way, as we prepare to look forward, I wanted everyone to look back a bit, one more time. For this week’s Awards Radar Community Question, the last of the year, it’s a pretty obvious one. Simply put, what is your favorite film of 2022?
As you no doubt saw, I listed my favorite films of the year here (as well as here on the podcast), so those are certainly on the table. If you’re also partial to Babylon, Clerks III, Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Fabelmans, Hustle, She Said, Top Gun: Maverick, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Vengeance, and The Whale, you clearly have support with yours truly.
The options are endless, beyond my favorites. There’s Aftersun, All Quiet on the Western Front, Avatar: The Way of Water, The Banshees of Inisherin, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Decision to Leave, Elvis, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, RRR, Tár, and many more.

I’m still mulling over which one is my “favorite,” but the films I got the most out of this year were RRR, TÁR, Aftersun, Decision to Leave, and surprisingly, The Menu.
