First Trailer for ‘The Pale Blue Eye’ Sees Scott Cooper’s Latest Collaboration with Christian Bale

The first trailer for The Pale Blue Eye has been released online. Based on the book of the same name by Louis Bayard, the movie is written and directed by Scott Cooper, and stars Christian Bale, Harry Melling, Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Timothy Spall, Fred Hechinger, and Robert Duvall.

Its plot synopsis reads “West Point, 1830. A world-weary detective is hired to discreetly investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case — a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.”

You can watch the trailer below and see the movie in select theatres on December 23rd and on Netflix on January 6:
