It was announced this morning that the Critics Choice Awards, which is set to take place on March 13th, the same day as the BAFTA awards, will telecast the award show from two different locations: One in Los Angeles, and the other set in London.
This comes after the ceremony, which was initially intended to take place on January 9th, was delayed due to the surge of the Omicron variant. This move to have a simultaneous ceremony take place in London is a solution to other nominees attending the BAFTA ceremony, which is set to take place hours before the Critics Choice Awards begin.
Critics Choice CEO Joey Berlin said in a statement, “The role of the Critics Choice Awards in the entertainment world has grown exponentially over the past quarter century. When the pandemic made us move our show date from it’s traditional kickoff in January into the heart of awards season, we felt the need to add a second stage in London to make sure that all our honorees would have the opportunity to participate in the live telecast. Two parties, two networks, two hosts — it’s going to be a heck of a night — on two continents!”
The 2022 Critics Choice Awards is set to take place on March 13th at the Fairmount Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Savoy Hotel in London.
