Marvel Studios Casting Latino Lead for Halloween Special on Disney+

Following rumors of a potential Werewolf by Night project at Marvel Studios, casting is underway for the upcoming project. The special is looking for a Latino lead, likely representing that of Jake Gomez, a character in Marvel Comics.

The comic book story that this project may be based on follows Gomez who becomes a werewolf due to a curse within his family.

Though the project hasn’t been officially announced, the speculation has been prevalent online due to leaked codenames trademarked by Marvel. The episode will begin filming in early 2022, with its addition to the MCU set to drop around the Halloween season in 2022 on Disney+.

Werewolf by Night will not be Disney+’s first holiday special. Muppets Haunted Mansion releases this Halloween. It will also precede The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special which will release the Christmas holiday season in 2022.
