Over two years after retiring from his iconic role of Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. is set to co-star in a new HBO Series.
The series in question is an adaptation of the Viet Thanh Nguyen novel The Sympathizer, which won a Pulitzer-Prize. The novel is an espionage thriller set during the final days of the Vietnam War about a spy being exiled in the United States.
Downey Jr. won’t be the of lead the series, with show-runners Don McKellar and Park Chan-Wook, as he is set to co-star alongside a currently not cast lead. Still, seeing Downey Jr. in a supporting role on this prestige television show will surely be exciting. More on The Sympathizer when we have it…
