2021 Emmy Award Nominations Revealed

*Editor’s Note: I just wanted to quickly praise the Awards Radar TV team for their work during this first part of Emmy season. I’ve always been more of a film person than a television person, so having team members with a passion for a small screen has truly been a blessing. Plus, this crop of nominees this year is truly an interesting one, so read on below!*

The past year has been an incredibly strong year for television, surely making it hard for the Emmys committee to choose from the best of the best. But alas, this morning at 11:30 AM EST, the 2021 Emmy Award nominations were revealed.

Father-Daughter duo Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Blindspotting) presented the list of nominees this morning, alongside Television Academy Chairman and CEO Frank Scherma.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe show WandaVision are in for a treat, seeing as how the show nabbed a total of three nominations today, including one for Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen in Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress in a Limited Anthology Series or Movie, as well as the show itself, which was nominated in the Best Limited Anthology Series or Movie category.

Similarly speaking, Disney’s The Mandalorian earned itself one nomination for Best Drama Series.

Among the various different distributors and streamers, Netflix took home the most nominations with seven, which isn’t too surprising considering how they are constantly putting out new original content on their streaming platform.
