What a difference a year makes, right? Last year, July 4th fell right in the middle of a pandemic, rendering normal celebrations not just irrelevant, but downright dangerous. Thankfully, we’re no longer in that position, so gathering in person with our friends and family is allowable (or even taking in a film at your local multiplex), but it’s still smart to take precautions. There are COVID variants out there that are no joke, so get vaccinated if you haven’t already, keep a mask handy just in case, and just be smart. That’s not just coronavirus related, either. Don’t be an idiot and mess around with fireworks. We prefer our faithful Awards Radar readers to not lose an appendages this weekend, if at all possible…
I hope you enjoy your Fourth of July, sincerely. We can spend today at a barbecue, at the movies, or just outdoors. Hell, hang out inside if you like. Personally? I’ll be recording the newest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast this morning, so today is partially a work day. Then, I’ll be consoling my dog as he suffers through the barrage of firecrackers and fireworks that ring out through New York City every July 4th. You may be a fan, but he decidedly is not. So, again, try to take it easy there, for our four-legged friends. Mostly though, I just wanted to take this time to wish you all well. You deserve it.
Have a great day and here’s to a fun rest of the summer!
Enjoy the Fourth of July, everyone!
