Awards Radar TV: 2021 Emmy Awards Predictions

*Editor’s Note: Those of you who know me know that I’m not nearly as big a television viewer as a film viewer. So, while Oscar predictions are a constant in my life, that’s not the case with Emmy predictions. Luckily, the Awards Radar TV team is here to help! See below for their 2021 picks…*

This years Emmys looks to be one like no other before them. The pandemic had us watching large quantities of television at the same time it delayed the release of some Emmy favorites. Even as we were in the middle of a pandemic the quality of the content available to us did not diminish. Quite the opposite, in fact. We would say this year actually makes the case for one of the best in recent memory.

The ARTV team put our heads together compiling a list of our projected predictions, while also including our own FYC of sorts, performers and series that deserve to be on you Emmys Radar. In these times where content is being delivered in more ways than ever, from the traditional via the networks and cable to the ever-growing list of streamers, we found it important to help cast spotlight on the very best the year had to offer. For that reason, our lists of the potential nominees features both the familiar faces and some you may have overlooked. Below you will find links to our category by category Emmys selections.

With some amazing competition across the board, categories like Limited Series look like a real bloodbath with a healthy supply of top notch entries. The Queen’s Gambit has been keeping the competition in check all awards season but now face strong fan/critic darlings from WandaVision to Mare of Easttown and more. In the coming weeks we will dig deeper into the shows and performances vying for Emmy gold.

While pretty thorough, it is tough to fit them all. If some of your favorites are not on our lists, let us and the voters know – make your case in the comments or on our Twitter page. No matter who you are rooting for this has been an awesome year for television. Keep following ARTV’s team – Mitchell Beaupre, Niki Cruz, Abe Friedtanzer, Chris James and me, Steven Prusakowski as we continue to cover all the best of television right up until Emmy night and beyond.

We will be providing category by category coverage and frequently updated predictions. Also, be sure to check out our interviews page both here and on our Youtube for conversations with some of the the leading Emmy hopefuls.

Steven Prusakowski has been a cinephile as far back as he can remember, literally. At the age of ten, while other kids his age were sleeping, he was up into the late hours of the night watching the Oscars. Since then, his passion for film, television, and awards has only grown. For over a decade he has reviewed and written about entertainment through publications including Awards Circuit and Screen Radar. He has conducted interviews with some of the best in the business - learning more about them, their projects and their crafts. He is a graduate of the RIT film program. You can find him on Twitter and Letterboxd as @FilmSnork – we don’t know why the name, but he seems to be sticking to it.
