A24 has announced a new picture with a major name set to lead. Julia Louis-Dreyfus will star in Tuesday, the directorial debut from Daino O. Pusic.
While the plot of the film is being kept under wraps for now, it is said to be a mother-daughter fairy tale, with Lola Petticrew set to play Louis-Dreyfus’ mother in the film. Arinzé Kene is also part of the cast.
The mysterious film is a big move for Pusic, whose 2015 short film The Beast played at the Telluride Film Festival. She followed that up with another short titled Rhonna & Donna, which played at the fest as well and would go on to win several awards.
It’s an interesting choice of project for Louis-Dreyfus, who has been branching out into new territories after the conclusion of her long, awards-dominating run on HBO’s Veep. Within the last two years she has voiced a main character in Pixar’s Onward, starred with Will Ferrell in the remake Downhill, and recently appeared on Disney+’s MCU series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
